The New Bone Health Book was released on Tuesday, 16 June 2009 by Prof. R. C. Deka, Director, AIIMS,   at Jawaharlal Nehru Auditorium.
 
 
ISBMR will be sending representatives to 19th IOF Advanced Training Course on Osteoporosis which will be held on February 2 – 4, 2010 in Lyon, France, to attend the course as representatives of ISBMR.


6th Annual Conference of ISBMR, will be held on 13th and 14th August, 2010. Details of the event would be available later.

Essay competition on Osteoporosis was conducted on the eve of World Osteoporosis Day 2009 by ISBMR. Award Ceremony was held on November 19, 2009 at AIIMS, New Delhi.

4th Annual Conference of Indian Society For Bone And Mineral Research (ISBMR)
was held at PGI, Chandigarh from October 18 - 19, 2008.
 

4th National conference of ISBMR 2008 was organized at department of Endocrinology, PGIMER, Chandigarh on 18th & 19th October 2008. This conference was decorated by galaxy of national and international speakers namely Prof. D.S. Rao (Detroit, USA), Prof. Subhash Kukreja (Chicago, USA) and Dr. Margrate Zacharian, (Sydney, Australia) and Dr. Sarath LK (Srilanka). This conference was also observed by IOF representative Margret Walker. This conference was attended by around 100 delegates.

The scientific programme was very informative and interactive. This conference had 6 sessions on various metabolic bone disorders. Most of the sessions were enlighting and thought provoking. The talk on bone histomorphometry was particularly illustrative about the new and exciting technique in bone and minearal research. The talk on FRAX was also very useful. The talk on fallacies in interpretation of bone mineral density in adults was argueably best of the lot. Symposium on vitaminD was also extremely, informative and low vitamin D levels world wide was an eye opener. Various other talks on bisphophonates, bone forming therapies and osteoporosis in children were generated lot of discussion and interaction and enjoyed by most of the delegates. Systemic osteodystrophies were also covered in depth. In free papers session of the conference, more than 20 delegates participated either in oral or poster presentation. Best poster and oral presentation award was also given.

Over all it was a comprehensive coverage of most of the metabolic bone disorders a fastest growing branch of endocrinology.
