  • IOF Regionals Singapore'10 - 1st Asia-Pacific Osteoporosis Meeting was held from 10-13th December 2010 at Raffles city convention centre, Singapore.
  • ISBMR organized "Bone Health Essay Competition" pan India, results of which were announced on 20 Oct the World Osteoporosis Day.
  • 2nd Indian Osteporosis Congress-2010 was held at Mumbai from 9-10 October 2010.
  • The 6th Annual Conference of ISBMR was held at AIIMS, New Delhi from 13-14 August 2010.

"Bone Health Essay Competition" - 2010

On the eve of World Osteoporosis Day 2010, ISBMR conducted an essay competition on osteoporosis with the subject “How to increase awareness of Osteoporosis and its Consequences among general public and Health Professionals in India ”. Prize distribution function was organized on the eve of 'World Osteoporosis day', 19 Oct 2010 in AIIMS. The entire show was organized under the guidance of Dr. Rajesh Khadgawat our Joint Secretary.

Following were declared as winners:-

First Prize - Anurag Jena, SCB Med Coll, Cuttack, 

Second Prize - Sarthak Mohanty, SCB Med Coll, Cuttack,

Third Prize - Sanat Rao, Govt. Kilpuk Med Coll Chennai,

The Best Original Idea Prize – Siddhartha Bahera, Kalinga institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubneshwar

They were awarded with cheques of Rs. 51000/-, 21000/- , 11000/- and 7000/- respectively.

The award ceremony was held at AIIMS, where office bearer of ISBMR along with the winners were present. The awards were given away by our President Dr. (Maj. Gen.) R.K.Marwaha and our Secretary Dr. Nikhil Tandon. Brig. Satish Kukreja (Retd.) Hony CEO gave a vote of thanks.

The presentation given by the winners will be on the website soon. The competition was supported by unrestricted educational grant from Ranbaxy Ortholands.
