The Indian
Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ISBMR) was set up with the
primary aim of spreading awareness and encouraging research about
metabolic bone disorders (especially osteoporosis) among the Indian
medical faternity. For the last several years we have been involved
in conducting "multidisciplinary" CMEs, courses, workshops
for various specialists involved in the field of osteoporosis.
The International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF), the leading world
body in this field, recognized these efforts, and chose the ISBMR
as world body in this field, recognized these efforts, and chose
the ISBMR as its partner for spreding physician awareness in India.
In April 2005 a Nationwide Campaign for Physician Awareness was
launched as a part of the ISBMR-IOF initiative. A highly successful
ISBMR national conference was held in New Delhi on November 10,
2005.
The Cochin meeting is the first of the "structured" courses
being organized under this campaign. The Amrita Institute of Medical
Sciences has very kindly agreed to host this
event. There could not have been a better venue than the AIIMS,
both from the scientific and
geographical standpoint. we invite you to actively participate and
contribute to the proceedings of the program. In keeping with the
academic spiritm there is no registration fee.
we are grateful to Eli Lilly for sponsoring this course through
an unrestricted educational grant. |
