ISBMR conducted an Essay Competition on Osteoporosis, Award Ceremony was held on November 19th, 2009 at AIIMS, New Delhi
On the eve of World Osteoporosis Day 2009, ISBMR conducted an essay competition on osteoporosis with the subject “How to increase awareness of Osteoporosis and its Consequences among general public and Health Professionals in India”. The competition was conceived by Dr. Rajesh Khadgawat from AIIMS.
The competition was restricted to medical students (under graduates and interns) of four medical colleges of Delhi.
In spite of short notice 11 essays were received. These were evaluated by experts in the field i.e. Prof. Rajesh Malhotra and Col. M.K.Garg.
They were awarded with cheques of Rs. 11000/-, 5000/- and 5000/- respectively. All other participants were given consolation prizes.
The award ceremony was held at Lecture Theatre Hall No 1 at AIIMS, where office bearer of ISBMR along with the participants were present. The awards were given away by our Chief Advisor Dr. Ambrish Mithal. Dr. (Maj. Gen.) R.K.Marwaha briefed all about the society and its activities and Brig. Satish Kukreja (Retd.) Hony CEO gave a vote of thanks.
